Grammy: Ο Τζον Μπατίστ στην κορυφή της κούρσας με 11 υποψηφιότητες

Τζάστιν Μπίμπερ και Doja Cat έλαβαν από οκτώ υποψηφιότητες.

Ο Τζον Μπατίστ και η Ολίβια Ροντρίγκο είναι μεταξύ των καλλιτεχνών οι οποίοι εδραίωσαν τις θέσεις τους στο σύμπαν της ποπ κουλτούρας, σύμφωνα με τις υποψηφιότητες των βραβείων Grammy 2022.

Τα ονόματα των υποψηφίων αποκάλυψαν οι BTS, Μπίλι Άιλις, Κάρλι Πιρς και άλλοι καλλιτέχνες μαζί με τον πρόεδρο της Recording Academy, Χάρβεϊ Μέισον Τζούνιορ.

Της κούρσας ηγείται ο Τζον Μπατίστ με 11 υποψηφιότητες, μεταξύ των οποίων για τα βραβεία Άλμπουμ της Χρονιάς, με τον δίσκο του «We Are» και Ηχογράφηση της Χρονιάς με το «Freedom».

Ακολουθούν ο Τζάστιν Μπίμπερ και η Doja Cat, με οκτώ υποψηφιότητες ο καθένας. Η Ροντρίγκο συγκέντρωσε συνολικά επτά υποψηφιότητες, συμπεριλαμβανομένων των μεγάλων βραβείων, γνωστών ως «Big Four»: Τραγούδι της χρονιάς, Άλμπουμ της Χρονιάς, Ηχογράφηση της Χρονιάς και Καλύτερος Νέος Καλλιτέχνης.

Η 64η τελετή των βραβείων Grammy θα πραγματοποιηθεί  στις 31  Ιανουαρίου 2022  στο Los Angeles Staples Center  και θα τιμήσει την καλύτερη μουσική που κυκλοφόρησε από 1η Σεπτεμβρίου 2020 έως 30 Σεπτεμβρίου 2021, σε 86 κατηγορίες. (Αυτό σημαίνει ότι παρά τις υπέροχες κριτικές που έλαβε η Αντέλ για το τέταρτο άλμπουμ της «30», δεν θα είναι επιλέξιμη για Grammy μέχρι το 2023 λόγω των κανονισμών.)

Προς το παρόν δεν έχει ανακοινωθεί ο οικοδεσπότης βραδιάς.

Οι φετινές υποψηφιότητες αντικατοπτρίζουν μια σειρά από παρασκηνιακές αλλαγές. Τον περασμένο Απρίλιο, η Recording Academy ανακοίνωσε ότι θα καταργήσει τις ανώνυμες επιτροπές που εξετάζουν τις αρχικές επιλογές των υποψηφιοτήτων, οι οποίες θεωρούνταν εδώ και καιρό αμφιλεγόμενες και αντίθετα, θα επιτρέψει στους περισσότερους από 11.000 ψηφοφόρους της να επιλέξουν υποψηφίους σε διάφορες κατηγορίες -με την πρόθεση να δώσει σε καλλιτέχνες όπως οι BTS και ο The Weeknd, που αγνοήθηκαν τα προηγούμενα χρόνια, μια καλύτερη ευκαιρία για Grammy στο μέλλον.

Επίσης, η Aκαδημία θα απονείμει εφέτος δύο νέα βραβεία: Best Global Music Performance και Best Música Urbana Album.

Υπενθυμίζεται ότι η τελετή απονομής του 2021 πραγματοποιήθηκε στις 14 Μαρτίου και όχι στις αρχές Ιανουαρίου ή στις αρχές Φεβρουαρίου, λόγω πανδημίας.
